Welcome to West Ox Arts Gallery

The gallery at West Ox Arts is a lively and inspiring venue for work by contemporary artists, design and craft makers. Our aim is to provide a stimulating and enjoyable experience of the visual arts.

West Ox Arts is a focus for creative activity in the region, with two galleries including the Vesey Room. We have a full programme of up to fifteen exhibitions a year as well as talks, workshops and special events. The gallery also has a shop selling ceramics, jewellery and cards.

August Exhibition

THE LONG TRADITION

31 July - 15 August 2010

Open: Tues to Sat 10.30am to 12.30pm and 2-4pm. Sun 2 to 4pm.

This is a touring exhibition of calligraphy to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Oxford Scribes. The main part of the exhibition consists of 26 pieces for the letters of the alphabet. A fascinating show demonstrating many different types of calligraphy in a variety of historical styles.

‘Meet the Scribes’ days which will be an opportunity to talk with the artists and see some demonstrations. These take place on Friday 6th August and Friday 13th August 10.30am to 12.30pm and 2 to 4pm. Do come along if you can.

July - August Exhibition

The Robert Vesey Room, Bampton Library

IMPRIMATUR 10

3 July - 22 August

Open: Mon & Thurs 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Wed & Sat 10am to 12noon.

Denise Mason and Gill Salway return to the Vesey Room with an exhibition showcasing some of the varied work they have produced over the past year. Denise works primarily with silk screen, often using plant and floral images; Gill concentrates on collagraph choosing subjects with a strong sculptural or textural quality.
